Pivot Active Women

To make Pivot Active Women accessible to as many people as possible, we ask for a small nominal participation fee. This contribution simply helps covers some essential costs such as coaching, staffing, and programme delivery. The majority of the programme costs are absorbed by us, as this is part of our wider annual project and community commitment. Until external funding is secured, this small fee allows us to run the programme sustainably while keeping it affordable for everyone. Once registered, you can focus on enjoying the experience, connecting with others, and working towards your goals — just complete the short sign-up form and join us.

Pivot Active Women(powered by the Verida Project) is a women-focused health and activity programme designed to help women reconnect with themselves, each other, and their wellbeing through movement, community, and shared goals.

At its core, Pivot Active Women is about creating a welcoming space where women of all backgrounds, abilities, and fitness levels can come together, get active, and feel supported. The programme is centred around training towards a 5k or 10k run, with each participant choosing the distance that feels right for them. There is no pressure to be “a runner” — the focus is on progress, confidence, and showing up.

Participants will train weekly as a group, guided by structured, supportive sessions that build fitness gradually and safely. Alongside the running element, the programme introduces women to a wide range of activities and sports, allowing them to explore different ways of moving, improve overall health, and broaden their horizons beyond traditional fitness routines. This approach recognises that health is not one-size-fits-all and that enjoyment is key to long-term participation.

 

Pivot Active Women also places a strong emphasis on connection and community. The programme encourages women to meet new people, build friendships, and support one another throughout the journey. For many participants, it is as much about social connection and shared experience as it is about physical fitness.

The programme is goal-driven, with clear targets and milestones that give participants something positive to work towards. Completing a 5k or 10k event is a tangible achievement, but the wider goals include improved confidence, better physical and mental wellbeing, and increased participation in active lifestyles beyond the programme.

 

Pivot Active Women complements our wider work by providing an accessible, inclusive entry point into health, sport, and community engagement. It supports women who may be returning to exercise, trying something new, or simply looking for a supportive environment to prioritise their own wellbeing.

Ultimately, Pivot Active Women is about helping women pivot — towards healthier habits, stronger connections, and a renewed sense of confidence and capability — one step, one session, and one shared goal at a time.
