65th International Liffey Descent

This iconic race consists of 10 weirs and one portage along the stunning River Liffey. The 30-km course begins at the famous K-Club in County Kildare and finishes close to Dublin City at the National War Memorial Gardens, Kilmainham, Dublin.

A valid membership is required for entry. If you are not a member, a day licence can be purchased at the end of this booking process.

All paddlers must be of the correct skill level to participate in this race.

It's advised that you are at the Level 3 standard or signed off by a qualified Level 3 instructor.

Only suitable boats will be allowed to race. If unsure, please get in touch with us.

All boats must have internal flotation/buoyancy

K  = Kayak

Open = open boats ie Canadian Canoes

A morning bus will go from the Dublin University Boat Club, Kilmainham at 8.30 on Saturday morning.

Bib collection will take place at the Dublin University Boat Club, Kilmainham from 5 pm to 8 pm on Friday, the 18th. 

The race starts in the K club at 12 midday 

The minimum age for the junior section is 16 years or 14 years  if in a double with an adult.
