William Gallagher fundraising for Irish Cancer Society in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2025

I am running this year's Dublin City Marathon for two reasons: (1) I have been supported for many years by the Irish Cancer Society in terms of our research, and I am keen to aid their efforts. Cancer research is more than a day job for me - it has affected my family like many others across the island of Ireland. Research drives progress but it needs support. (2) My eldest daughter, Ava, is also running the Marathon for the Irish Cancer Society and I wish to join forces with her. She is an inspiration to me. The last time I ran the Dublin City Marathon, it floored me. Running beside my beautiful and funny daughter, I know I will be able to make it! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Your support is really appreciated. If you can help me to promote this page, I would greatly appreciate it. You can share my page on any social media using the social sharing sections. Thanks again!

About Irish Cancer Society

Cancer is the most common cause of death in Ireland with more than 9,000 people dying each year. That's almost 25 people dying from cancer every day across Ireland. An average of 1 person every hour. However, thanks to earlier detection, improved care and targeted treatments, more people are surviving cancer than ever before. Today, there are 200,000 cancer survivors in Ireland. The Irish Cancer Society are working towards a future where nobody dies from cancer, and everyone affected by the disease will have access to world class treatment and support. Typically receiving only 5% of income from the Government, your support helps provide key services to ensure no one has to face cancer alone and funds vital cancer research with over €30 million invested since 2010.
