Paul Kinsella fundraising for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2025
This year I am taking on the Dublin City Marathon in memory of my beautiful sister-in-law Olivia - to raise funds for an amazing charity called CRY Ireland. This is a charity close to my heart (pardon the pun!) as they have been absolutely amazing in so many ways to my family. Tragically, Olivia passed away suddenly in May 2009 at the young age of 29 from SADS. Unfortunately, Olivia wasn’t the first in her family to die from SADS as Olivia and my wife had lost their mother Deirdre who was also just 29yrs old when she died suddenly in 1984. Sadly, there’s been a number of sudden deaths throughout their maternal extended family over the years. However, through CRY's screening and testing a genetic SADS heart condition has since been discovered and my wife and children along with many extended family members are now receiving the medical supervision and treatment they need to prevent any further deaths. CRY have been absolutely incredible in not only providing the medical side but especially in the family support and solidarity that they offer. All services provided by CRY Ireland are free. CRY is a self-supporting registered charity. The majority of their funding comes from fundraising events. I would be extremely grateful for any donations made to this fantastic cause in memory of our beautiful, vivacious, bubbly, kind and generous Olivia who we love and miss dearly. Thank you.
