Maeve Patterson fundraising for Cancer Fund For Children
This year, on 25 October, I’m running the Irish Life Dublin Marathon — not just as a personal challenge, but as a way of turning my own experience into something to help others. Having gone through a cancer diagnosis and treatment, my greatest fear wasn’t for myself — it was for my child. This is why I’m running in support of Cancer Fund for Children, who stand alongside children and young people facing cancer every day — whether they are living with a diagnosis or have a parent with cancer. Cancer Fund for Children's vision is simple but deeply important: that no child should face cancer alone. Every step of the 26.2 miles is about helping ensure children facing cancer feel supported and less alone — and about rebuilding strength and belief in myself. If you’re able to support — whether by donating, sharing, or cheering me on — it would mean so much. Every mile matters. Every bit of support helps. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
