Joshua Cook fundraising for Epilepsy Ireland
One morning, 8 years ago, my panicked Dad woke me after receiving a phone call. My Brother, Alfie, had been staying at a friend's house before going on a school trip, he had got up that morning and had a seizure. We hurriedly drove to him having no real clue what was waiting for us on arrival. It's a sobering thought, but I wasn't sure whether my brother would be alive. Alfie was fine, but later that day he was diagnosed with epilepsy. It came out of nowhere, it was abrupt, it was terrifying. None of us knew anything about this disorder which will now dominate the rest of his life. I don't think many people do, and I want to raise money for a charity that raises awareness, understanding, and helps those living with epilepsy. Epilepsy Ireland's vision is to achieve a society where no person's life is limited by epilepsy. This is a challenge for me, but with that sentence in mind, it's making the early morning run more bearable. If you can spare anything in these tough times, please do.
