Alexa + Evangeline Hastings are running the Dublin Marathon for Brain Tumour Research – In Memory of Our Uncle Nicky fundraising for Brain Tumour Research in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2025
On Sunday, 26th October, we will be running the Dublin Marathon in memory of our wonderful uncle Nicky, and in support of Brain Tumour Research. Growing up, we were incredibly lucky to have Nicky in our lives. He was a strong, determined, and endlessly encouraging presence. Looking back, we now realise just how much he instilled in us, an unwavering drive, resilience, and a deep belief in our potential. If we weren’t on the tennis or squash court, or at the driving range, chances are we were running shuttles in the racquetball court; pushed not by pressure, but by his belief that we could always give more. Nicky never doubted us. He supported, taught and encouraged us every single step of the way in everything that we did, especially where sport was involved. In July 2016, Nicky was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour. In the three months that followed, he showed unimaginable courage, strength, and hope. His fighting spirit and positive outlook never wavered, and he remained a constant light through the darkest of times. We are running in his memory, and we would be so grateful for any donation you can make to support Brain Tumour Research. Your generosity will help fund vital research and bring us closer to a cure. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
