Danny O'Rourke fundraising for Alzheimer Society of Ireland in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2025
I am training to run a marathon — my very first marathon — in support of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, with the funds now being focused specifically towards the Kilnamanagh Social Club, which is run by the Alzheimer Society of Ireland. This cause is very close to my heart, as my granny, who meant the world to me, lived with dementia and sadly passed away a few months ago. The Kilnamanagh Social Club is one of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland’s local support hubs. It offers people living with dementia a safe and welcoming place to socialise, take part in activities, and maintain a sense of independence and community. It also gives families much-needed peace of mind knowing their loved ones are cared for with dignity and kindness. Unfortunately, I am unable to take part in this year’s Dublin Marathon due to a stress fracture in my tibia. I am very disappointed, but I plan to select another marathon in the near future and continue fundraising for this important cause. I would be so grateful for any support you can give. Every donation, big or small, will go directly towards the Kilnamanagh Social Club and will help them continue providing incredible care to those who need it most. Thank you all so much. Danny
