Doug Leddin & Simon Moore Running For Hugo! fundraising for Jack and Jill Children's Foundation in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2025

Running for a reason: This October, We will be lacing up our runners and taking on the Dublin Marathon 2025 with one goal in mind — to raise €5,000 for a charity that means a lot to people we care about: The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation. We often say life is a marathon, not a sprint — and for the families supported by Jack and Jill, that couldn't be more true. Every day, parents across Ireland are faced with the unimaginable challenge of caring for seriously ill children. Jack and Jill is there for them. Our friends little boy Hugo was born in January and was diagnosed with severe hypertrophic cardiomyopathy — a rare and serious heart condition. Since bringing him home, life has been hard for them, and The Jack and Jill Children's Foundation have been a lifeline They provide in-home nursing care and vital support, giving families the chance to rest, recover, and make memories — the kind of lifeline that changes lives. And they do it with relentless compassion and dignity. Why Jack and Jill Needs Us While the charity does receive some state funding, a huge portion of their services rely on donations from the public. That means people like you and me — and every single cent raised — are the reason they can show up for families in their hour of need. 100% of your donation will go directly to the Jack and Jill Foundation. Every €18 euro will help provide care hours for a child and support for their family. If we reach our goal of €5,000, Doug will also shave his beloved hair and Simon will get a Brickyard/Grindstone Tattoo. Whether it’s €5 or €500, your donation will help ease someone’s life. Together, we can make a real difference. Please donate what you can. Thank you so much. — Doug & Simon

About Jack and Jill Children's Foundation

Jack and Jill is a nationwide charity that funds and provides up to 100 hours per month of in-home nursing care and respite support to families caring for children, up to the age of six, with severe learning disability often associated with complex medical needs. Typically, these children may be tube fed, oxygen dependent, may not sleep, take seizures, need a lot of medication and require around-the-clock care. Understandably, their parents can be exhausted and need a break, which is where Jack and Jill comes in. Our service operates seven days a week, with no means test, no red tape and no waiting list. Another key part of our service is end-of-life-care for all children up to the age six, irrespective of diagnosis, empowering parents to take their child home to die at this most difficult time. In 2024, Jack and Jill supported 539 families across Ireland with in-home nursing care and respite support. Today, there are over 400 families under care.
