Ciara Blackstock fundraising for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2025
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. This year marks 20 years since my younger brother, Hugh passed away in the prime of his life, playing rugby. I ran the Dublin marathon (my first) the year after he died. I raised lots of money and it was a day I won’t forget filled with every emotion! It seems fitting to go back 20 years later and run Dublin marathon for the same great charity CRY. They were so supportive and helpful and even remembered our family when I got in touch. It’s estimated 100 young people die each year in Ireland from SADS. SADS encompasses a range of conditions where the heart stops suddenly and unexpectedly, often without any prior symptoms. Many SADS conditions are treatable if detected early through cardiac screening. Screening can help identify individuals at risk and prevent tragic outcomes and if you donate then you are helping someone who may not even know they have the condition. CRY provide services for this and also support for families who have lost a loved one to this condition. Your support is really appreciated. If you can help me to promote this page, I would greatly appreciate it. You can share my page on any social media using the social sharing sections. Thanks again!
