Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page – your support truly means the world to me. In March, my brilliant dad, Derry, passed away from oesophageal cancer. He was an incredible person – kind, funny in his unique dry way, a sci-fi fan through and through, and completely devoted to his family and grandkids. Friends and colleagues often called him a true gentleman, and they couldn’t have been more right. Before his diagnosis, we had never even heard of oesophageal cancer. Sadly, like so many others, we now know all too well how cruel and devastating it can be. Dad had 20 months – a time that brought heartbreaking lows including some incredibly joyful moments. But in the end, it just wasn’t nearly enough time. I’m running Dublin Marathon to raise funds for Oesophageal Cancer Fund (OCF). Their work is so important – from raising awareness and funding research to supporting people living with this disease. I hope that by helping to raise vital funds I can contribute to something that means others can get more time with the people they love. If you can help by sharing this page on social media or simply spreading the word, I’d be incredibly grateful. Thank you again – every bit of support counts.
