I am running the Dublin Marathon in October this year, in support of the charity Féileacáin – the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Association of Ireland (https://feileacain.ie/about/). Féileacáin provides personal, emotional and practical support to bereaved parents and their families, whenever they need it either immediately after loss or in the weeks months and years there after. This includes Memory Making, counselling, befriending services, play therapy for brothers and sisters, support meetings and services of remembrance. This charity holds a special place in our family. In May 2023, our precious baby boy Henry was born sleeping. Féileacáin provided exceptional support to myself, my wife Carrie, and Henry's big brother and sister, Tom and Maebh. Féileacáin not only helped guide us through this heartbreaking time, they provided us with the opportunity to create beautiful memories that we hold so dear. Their work as you can imagine is deeply meaningful to us and along with running in Henry’s memory, we want to help Féileacáin continue to provide their exceptional services in maternity units around the country. Any donation would be greatly appreciated by us. Thank you!! From Henry's Mom & Dad, Carrie & Brendan and Henry's brother's and sister Tom, Maebh & Joe.

About Féileacáin (Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Association of Ireland

Féileacáin (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Association of Ireland – SANDAI) was formed in 2009 and subsequently registered as a charity in 2010 ( CHY – 19635). Féileacáin was formed by a group of bereaved parents to offer support to anyone affected by the death of a baby around the time of birth, and the organisation is now the national charity supporting families affected by perinatal loss. Féileacáin is a volunteer led organisation and receives no funding from central government, relying instead on the support of our community and the families who avail of our services.
