Remembrance Run– the unique and hugely popular Walk or Run event will take place virtually on Remembrance Sunday on November 8th.
Remembrance Run, which for the last 8 years has taken place in the Phoenix Park will this year be going virtual with organisers committed to the event being ‘free to enter’ so as to allow everyone to come out and participate in memory of - and to pay tribute to - all those who lost their lives to coronavirus. It will be a day when we pause and remember family and friends passed, or others close to us who may be currently struggling with illness or other life challenges.
Over 35,000 people have taken part in the event over the last 8 years and although participants can’t come together in the Phoenix Park this year, organisers are encouraging everyone to head out on November 8th and dedicate your local walk or run to loved ones on this day of remembrance.
There will be a live countdown which will be streamed via the Remembrance Run page on the morning of November 8th which will also incorporate a virtual 'Wall of Remembrance'. Participants are welcomed to join in on the live stream as we countdown to lighting a candle for all those lost before setting out on our walk or run of remembrance at 11am.
Participants will have the option to purchase a souvenir t-shirt which will be delivered to you after completion of your walk or run.
