Weekend Kayaking Introductory Courses 2023

These courses are a basic introduction to paddlesports and are a great way to spend a weekend. They are suitable for total beginners or for anyone who has some previous paddling experience. They aim to introduce participants to the sport of kayaking with strong emphasis on fun, safety and enjoyment. The courses includes basic boat handling skills along with the recommended safety and rescue skills needed for paddling in a flat- water environment. They will include Canoeing Ireland’s Level 1 Kayak Skills Award syllabus along with an assessment for that award.

The course is practical with a minimum of 10-12 hours overall of on- the -water instruction. The course fee includes provision of kayak and all necessary safety equipment and gear.
