105th Dublin City Liffey Swim 2025

For over a century, The Dublin City Liffey Swim has been the pinnacle of the open sea season.  This historic event provides an unforgettable experience for competitors and spectators. The swim starts at Rory O’More Bridge near Guinness Brewery gate and ends at North Wall Quay famously standing before The Custom House, passing under eleven bridges along the route, including landmarks like the Four Courts.

Swim Ireland are delighted to be hosting the historical event on Saturday 13^th September 2025 with the women’s race starting a 3.00 pm followed by the men’s race at 4.15 pm and a prize giving at Custom House Quay afterwards.

Entries are now open for the 105th Dublin City Liffey Swim and in continuing with the tradition and format of the race, swimmers will be allocated handicaps for the race.

Entries close 5pm Wednesday 10th September 2025

Timings for the Day:

• Female Registration (Collection of timing chips and hats) – 1.00pm
• Female Swim (Ages 13+) – 3.00 pm 
• Open/Male Registration (Collection of timing chips and hats) - 2.00pm
• Open/Male Swim (Ages 13+) – 4.15 pm 

*Safety Briefings to take place before each race

Categories and Prizes

Skins only allowed for LIffey Swim (No Tech Suits, Race Suits or Jammers)

• 1st 10 Female Swimmers
• 1st 10 Open/Male Swimmers
• Fastest time Female and Open/Male
• Team Prize Female and Open/Male
• Overseas Winner

*Team Prize will be awarded to the first four swimmers finished from the same club.

Eligibility

To be eligible to take part in the 2025 Swim Ireland Dublin City Liffey Swim:

• Swimmers must hold a competitive Swim Ireland club members or Special Membership (This includes joint Triathlon Swim Plus Membership)
• Swimmers must have competed in 4* open water events hosted by Swim Ireland and/or a Swim Ireland affiliated club nationwide in the past 12 months. One of these races must have been listed on the Swim Ireland National Open Water Swim Series Calendar.
• Swimmers are a past winner

* Qualifying events may also include swims hosted by Swim Ireland affiliated clubs on the Leinster Open Sea Calendar which have already taken place.

• Swimmers must be aged 13 and over on the day of the race.

There is a cut off time of 1 hour to complete the race as this is a competitive event

Before You Book

• You must be able to swim the distance of the event that you have registered for. The race distance for the Dublin City Liffey Swim is 2200m.
• Due to the nature of Open Water Events, timings on event day are subject to change.
• Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event (except when in the water).
