Greenway Half Marathon 2025

This years event takes place on Saturday 30th Aug. at 9am. in  Kilmacthomas.

Entry fee includes bus travel to start point in Kilmacthomas, and a unique Greenway Tshirt!

As all our supporters know we try to raise awareness for important causes and charities with our events and this year the chosen charity we are supporting is St. John’s Special School Dungarvan

St. John’s  is a special school for Children with a Mild or Moderate General  Learning Disability, with two classes for children with a Severe to Profound General Learning Disability. 

They cater for boys and girls aged between 4 and 18 years from a wide catchment area which covers Dungarvan and West Waterford, and from Kilmacthomas to East Cork, and areas of South Tipperary. 

St. John's strives to provide a well-ordered, happy and secure atmosphere where the intellectual, spiritual physical, moral and cultural needs of the pupils are identified and addressed.

Due to increasing demand, the school has recently welcomed a significant number of new students however this growth has not been matched with additional funding or resources, and they are now facing critical logistical challenges.

One of their most urgent needs is an additional 9-seater vehicle. Transport is a lifeline for their school, facilitating access to vital community-based learning and services. Their current transport resources are now overstretched, and without a new vehicle, they risk limiting these essential services.

In conjunction with Waterford City and County Council this is a  13.1 mile race along the now famous old Waterford/Dungarvan Railway line. 

This fantastic amenity opened officially in 2017 and has already experienced visitors from all over the country and beyond. Users are amazed by this 47 km spectacular off-road cycling and walking trail along an old railway line between Waterford and Dungarvan.

RACE LIMIT OF 750 APPLIES.  

Entries close on 25th August or when limit of 750 is reached.

Please note this is a point to point race starting at the Coachhouse Kilmacthomas and finishing near Ballinroad, Dungarvan. Entry fee includes bus from Ballinroad to the start line in Kilmacthomas.
