10 mile run from Strandhill to Rosses Point in the shadow of Knocknarea mountain and overlooking Coney Island and Benbulben mountain.

Event Description:

The annual Sligo Coast to Coast 10-mile run/walk will take place on 27.9.2026.

9.30am: Walkers will commence from Roundabout below Sligo Rugby Club, Strandhill.

10.30am: Runners will commence from Roundabout below Sligo Rugby Club, Strandhill.

Both events will conclude at the finish gantry on the Prom on Rosses Point.

The event is managed by Sligo AC

We are delighted to announce that Call of the Wild will be our title sponsor again this year.

The 10-mile event commence in Strandhill, at the Roundabout near Sligo Rugby Club and finishes on the Prom in Rosses Point. The course is flat with very little in the way of an incline so will suit all abilities.

The event is being run on a “not for profit” basis and the beneficiaries will be Sligo Athletic Club. This year we are partnering with Sligo Cancer Support Group.

The 10 mile is a unique road race - Point to Point - encapsulating some of the most beautiful sights along the Wild Atlantic Way coastline. There will be 3 waters stations along the route with an additional station at the finish line.

There will be medals for all finishers.

Tec tops are an optional purchase until August 26th.

 

Registration/Number Collection:

Number collection will be available on Saturday and Sunday as set out below:

Saturday, 26th at Sligo Rugby Club from 5pm until 7pm.

Number collection: Sunday 27th 8.30am until 10am.

New entries will be accepted on Saturday evening, however we cannot guarantee the option to purchase a Tec Top at this time.

NO NEW ENTRIES will be accepted on Sunday morning due to administration constraints.

 

Bag drop:

A bag drop will be available at Sligo Rugby Club on Sunday from 8.30am until 10am on Sunday 27th September.

Small Items must be placed in the bags provided. Please print your race number clearly on the provided bag. Markers will be available. The bags will be brought to the finish line, on the Prom in Rosses Point, where they must be collected.

Transportation:

We ask participants, where possible, to arrange to do one of the following:

1. Carpool

2. Use public transport to travel back to Strandhill. Bus Eireann S2 leaves from Rosses Point: @ 11:05, 12:05, 13:05,14.05,15.05,16.05,17.05,18.05

 

Prizes:

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd M/F across the line

Plus 1st and 2nd for Over 40s, 50 and 60s,70’s M/F

There will be a prize-giving ceremony at the finish line at 12.30 approximately.
