Dublin Simon Community's 5k Home Run 2025 'Run & Family Day Out'

Get ready to lace up, step out, and make a real difference! Dublin Simon Community’s 42nd annual Home Run returns to Phoenix Park on Saturday, 4th October, inviting thousands to walk, jog, run, or roll their way through a new 5K loop, all while raising vital funds to help end homelessness. 

This year, Dublin Simon encourages participants to treat the entry fee as just the starting point—by kick-starting their fundraising efforts early and aiming for a €100 goal, supporters can make an even bigger impact. Raise €50 and you’ll earn a limited-edition Home Run t-shirt as a thank you. 

The 5-kilometre loop is open to all ages and abilities, with past participants including schools, walking groups, families with buggies, and elite runners. The first wave starts at 9.30am, with family and friends encouraged to cheer on participants along the route. By coming together in the spirit of community, we move closer to our shared goal: ending homelessness for good. 

Since its founding in 1983, the Home Run has raised vital funds to support Dublin Simon Community’s work across emergency response, wraparound services and long-term housing solutions. In 2023 alone, Dublin Simon’s Outreach team had 6,706 interventions with people sleeping rough, delivered 2,022 hours of counselling and suicide crisis support, and assisted 6,061 people and families across all services.
