Event Description:

Swim Ireland are delighted to partner with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership and Dublin City Sport and Wellbeing Partnership to deliver inclusive swimming lessons at the Enable Ireland Swimming Pool in Sandymount.

Aquatics for All is a supportive aquatic programme that empowers teens and young adults with additional needs to grow their confidence in the water.

We want to offer the opportunity to access swimming lessons in a quiet environment with small class sizes.

Programme Details:

Times and Abilities:

7pm - 7:45pm : Beginners

Focuses on getting comfortable in the water, building confidence, learning basic water safety, floating, and simple movements with or without support.

7:45pm - 8:30pm: Improvers

Swimmers are already able to move more independently in the water, with developing stroke techniques. They can swim short distances on their own, practice breathing skills, coordination, and greater confidence.

Age Group: participants from 8 years old and older.

Please note: As this is a group class, our Instructor will do their best to support everyone, but for the safety of all it is not ideal if they need to focus solely on one participant.

Therefore, if a participant requires extra help with movement, water support, or behaviour a carer must be in the pool with them.

Please come prepared to get in the water to assist if needed.

Dates:

1st, 8th , 15th, 22nd of October
29th of Oct - Halloween break - no class
5th, 12th, 19th, 26th of November

What to bring:

  • Swimwear
  • Goggles
  • Swim Hat (We will provide a silicone one to all participants)
  • Towel

This is a fantastic chance to enjoy the water, learn new skills, and celebrate every achievement!
