HerOutdoors Week 2024 - Dublin City


Come and try aquatics activites on Dollymount Strand for HER Outdoors week, in collaboration with Swim Ireland and Dublin City Council!

Her Outdoors Week is a campaign led by Sport Ireland, encouraging more females to get out and enjoy being active outdoors.

Swim Ireland and Dublin City Sports and Wellbeing Partnership are inviting you to encourage you, your daughter, niece, mum, grandmother, sister or friend to come along and join us during the 12th - 18th August.

Yoga and Dips: This is a wellness and holistic programme, guided by a qualified yoga instructor for 45 minutes followed by a dip in the open water. This event costs €5.

Aqua Aerobics: This is a 40 minute aqua aerobics class in the sea led by a qualified aqua instructor. This event costs €5.

Aqua Moves: Want to try artistic swimming (formerly known as synchronised swimming) in the sea? This event is targeted at teenage girls (but open to all)  - follow on artistic swimming programme in Sean macdermott street pool in september. This event costs €5.

Womens Swim lesson: This intro to open water swimming will help you to gain confidence when swimming in the sea. This event costs €5.

Walk & wade: a walk accross dollymount strand beach followed by a dip in the sea at the bathing shelters. Tea & coffee in red stables to follow. This is a free event

Further Information

  • We will meet at the lifeguard hut on the causeway road/ st annes golf club side of the beach NOT the wooden bridge side (NOTE: Walk & wade event will start at the wooden bridge side of beach).Turn right at the roundabout on the entrance to the beach, we will set up at the lifeguard hut at the beach entrance. 
  • This event is open to those of all abilities!
  • Please inform us if you require additional support.
  • Bring a yoga mat or towel with you for the yoga session.
  • Swim hat provided on the day.
  • Please wear or bring appropriate swim wear e.g. secure bikinis, swim suits and or rashvests to allow for movement!
  • Bring a water bottle with you to stay hydrated, a towel / swim poncho and warm clothes and a hot beverage for after your session!
