This year, I’m running the Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026 — for something bigger than myself. 26.2 miles. That’s the distance between comfort and courage, between an ordinary day and a moment that could truly change lives. Every mile I run is a reminder of why I’m doing this — to make a real difference for those who need it most. It’s not just about crossing a finish line; it’s about showing up, pushing through, and turning effort into impact. Sightsavers works in more than 30 countries to prevent avoidable blindness and fight for the rights of people with disabilities. What we do: Protecting sight - We prevent sight loss and avoidable blindness in low and middle income countries by treating conditions such as cataracts and refractive error. Fighting disease - We help to treat and prevent five debilitating diseases that affect more than a billion people. These are known as neglected tropical diseases. Disability rights - We promote equal opportunities and we campaign for disability rights so everyone has the chance to receive an education and earn a living.
