Shane McGonagle fundraising for Brain Tumour Research in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026

On October 25th I’m running the Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026 for a charity that means a lot to our family. When our family lost our Dad our entire world changed. Brain tumours steal so much from families, yet research into finding a cure remains chronically underfunded. Every step of this 26.2 mile journey is for him, for his strength, his love and the memory he has left behind. I’m raising money for the Brain Tumour Research Charity so that one day, other families won’t have to experience this heartbreak. Any donation, big or small, would be greatly appreciated - and help me get through the next few weeks of training! Thank you so much for your support 💚

About Brain Tumour Research

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this! We are the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours through campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.
