Peter & Emma Connolly fundraising for Irish Heart Foundation in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026
This year, my dad and I are taking on the Dublin City Marathon together, and we’re incredibly proud to be participating it in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation. This cause is particularly close to our hearts because in August 2023, my dad suffered a stroke. Seeing first-hand the impact a stroke can have, not just on the person who experiences it, but on their family and everyone around them, was something that changed our lives. Now he’s hit 60 and one of his bucket list was to complete a marathon, so here we go… We’ve also seen first-hand the incredible work the Irish Heart Foundation does to support people affected by heart disease and stroke, as well as their work in prevention, awareness and rehabilitation. Their support means so much to families like ours, and we wanted to give something back. Running a marathon is going to be a huge challenge, but having the opportunity to do it together makes it even more meaningful. Every mile we run will be for everyone whose lives have been affected by stroke and heart disease, and especially for our own family. If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, we would be incredibly grateful. Your support will help the Irish Heart Foundation continue the vital work they do every day. Thank you for supporting us, cheering us on, and helping us raise money for a cause that means so much to our family. ❤️ We will also be running for all the family members who we’ve sadly lost due to heart conditions. From the two of us, thank you.
