Mike Richards fundraising for The Gavin Glynn Foundation in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026
PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY - THIS IS A TERRIBLE IDEA FOR ME People have often said to me: "Mike, you'll never run a marathon, not with that wagon you're draggin'". Those were smart people. But then our friend Kitto Jones was diagnosed with ATRT, turning his family's world upside down. Charities like the Gary Glynn Foundation helped Kitto and his family through some of the hardest times imaginable, allowing them to focus on what mattered most when they needed it the most. Kitto died in June, less than 18 months after diagnosis, aged just 4. So in order to raise money for one of the charities that helped Cherry, AJ, Roo, Daisy and of course Kitto so much, it seems that I have to join Team Kitman go out and prove a lot of very smart people wrong: we're running the Dublin Marathon on October 25 - THIS YEAR. That is just three months from now. Your donations will help me push through the pain barriers: back pain, nipple chafing, carrying middle-aged-spread, and the traditional questioning of life's choices that arrives around mile 22. But don't do it for me - do it for families like the Phypers-Joneses, in Kitto's name.
