Michael O'Shaughnessy fundraising for Irish Cancer Society in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2025

Hi Everyone This year I’m taking on another marathon, The Dublin City Marathon on October 26th. This time, I’ve decided to run in support of a cause that’s very close to my heart - The Irish Cancer Society. Every one of us knows someone whose life has been touched by cancer whether it’s a friend, a family member, or a colleague. That’s why I have decided to lace up my runners to raise vital funds for the Irish Cancer Society, helping them continue to provide essential care, support services, and lifesaving research for people facing cancer across Ireland. Every donation, big or small, makes a huge difference. Please donate whatever you can and if you can’t donate, a share of this page would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for you support. Michael

About Irish Cancer Society

Cancer is the most common cause of death in Ireland with more than 9,000 people dying each year. That's almost 25 people dying from cancer every day across Ireland. An average of 1 person every hour. However, thanks to earlier detection, improved care and targeted treatments, more people are surviving cancer than ever before. Today, there are 200,000 cancer survivors in Ireland. The Irish Cancer Society are working towards a future where nobody dies from cancer, and everyone affected by the disease will have access to world class treatment and support. Typically receiving only 5% of income from the Government, your support helps provide key services to ensure no one has to face cancer alone and funds vital cancer research with over €30 million invested since 2010.
