On October 25th, I’ll be running the Dublin Marathon in aid of the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust — a charity that holds a very personal significance for me. In July 2023, Aoife was repatriated home. During an incredibly difficult time, the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust was there to help her family and I through the process. Without their support, we genuinely don’t know how we would have managed. I’m running this marathon to give something back to an organisation that helped us when we needed it most, and to raise awareness of the incredible work they do for families who find themselves in the most unimaginable circumstances. The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust aims to alleviate the financial hardship of bereaved families repatriating the body (bodies) of loved one(s) who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances back to Ireland.
