Liam Kelly fundraising for Focus Ireland in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026
For reasons that seemed logical at the time, I’ve signed myself up to run the Dublin Marathon on October 25th in aid of Focus Ireland. That means I’ll be attempting to lug my fat arse around 42.2km of Dublin, something i was neither designed nor built for. Training has been underway for the last few months and, so far, there’s still a fair bit of ground to cover before the day, but the plan is fairly straightforward: get to the start line, keep moving forward and hopefully cross the finish line before someone starts dismantling it. There is a good reason behind all this madness. I’m raising money for Focus Ireland, who do brilliant work supporting people and families experiencing homelessness across the country. So if you have a few euro to spare and would like to sponsor a well fed 39 year old man making a series of increasingly poor life choices, I’d really appreciate it. Every donation, big or small, will help Focus Ireland — and will also make it considerably harder for me to pull out when I’m questioning my existence somewhere around the 32km mark. Thanks a million to anyone who donates, shares the page or gives me a bit of encouragement along the way. What could possibly go wrong............
