karl fingleton fundraising for Irish Kidney Association CLG in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026
This year, I’m running the Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026 In memory of my Uncle and godfather, Eoin Lalor. Eoin passed away Oct 12th 2023 , aged 59, after suffering a fatal brain hemorrhage, leaving behind a vast collection of friends and family who mourn his passing everyday. The outpouring of grief and remorse experienced at his early passing was evident in the messages we received from good friends and colleagues of Eoin over the weeks and months after his death. In life, Eoin made these connections whilst living an extraordinary life, filled with travel and stories across the 4 corners of the earth, mixing buisiness with pleasure and making new friends everywhere he went. Eoin was a prolific adventurer/mountaineer and would always bring back gifts and wonders from his travels. Eoin never thought twice about kind gestures and giving and this continued even after he was gone. Eoin was an organ donator and was able to make the ultimate gesture with the donation of a kidney and liver to separate recipient's. This was clearly important to eoin in life and his family have stuck to his ideals now he's gone, repeating the importance of that message. To be donor and make a difference. I have my organ donor card on me at all times thanks to Eoin and i hope to make further contributions to the cause by running the 26.2 miles of the 2026 Dublin City Marathon in his memory. Hopefully together we can pay a great man further respect by meeting and maybe even surpassing my stated fundraising goal, but by also encouraging other to take up the cause of organ donation. That way eoin and his message can continue to change lives for decades to come. Thank you for all your help and i look forward to seeing you at the finish line!
