Ellie Stone fundraising for Irish Cancer Society in Regeneron Great Limerick Run 2025
After taking up running to complete the 6 mile in the GLR last year, I completely fell in love with it and managed to keep it up ππ»ββοΈ This year I wanted to set myself a new challenge, and Iβm going to take on the half marathon this year. Last year I had incredible support from friends and family, and raised some much needed funds for the Irish Cancer Society. A charity incredibly close to my heart, I am fundraising once more on their behalf ππΌ
About Irish Cancer Society
Cancer is the most common cause of death in Ireland with more than 9,000 people dying each year. That's almost 25 people dying from cancer every day across Ireland. An average of 1 person every hour.
However, thanks to earlier detection, improved care and targeted treatments, more people are surviving cancer than ever before. Today, there are 200,000 cancer survivors in Ireland.
The Irish Cancer Society are working towards a future where nobody dies from cancer, and everyone affected by the disease will have access to world class treatment and support.
Typically receiving only 5% of income from the Government, your support helps provide key services to ensure no one has to face cancer alone and funds vital cancer research with over β¬30 million invested since 2010.
