Eoin Lynch fundraising for Epilepsy Ireland
This year, I’m running the Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026 for a very personal reason. In June last year, while we were on holidays in Spain, my teenage son had a seizure completely out of the blue. It was one of the scariest moments our family has ever experienced. Following tests, it came as a huge shock when he was later diagnosed with epilepsy. Like many families, we suddenly found ourselves in a world we knew very little about. During that time, Epilepsy Ireland were an incredible source of support, information, and reassurance. They helped us understand that we were not alone, and secured a wearable medical device that has given him great freedom and peace of mind. Because of that, this cause means a lot to me, and running this marathon feels like the right way to give something back. This will be my first marathon (and probably my last too LOL), and I have only started training in the past few weeks. It has not been easy, as I also live with vestibular migraine and vertigo, which I was diagnosed with a couple of years ago. Some days the training is tough, but every time it feels difficult, I remind myself why I’m doing it. On October 2026, I will take on 26.2 miles in the Irish Life Dublin Marathon, and I am hoping to raise €1500 for Epilepsy Ireland. If you can donate, share this page, or simply cheer me on, it would mean a lot to me and to my family. Every euro raised helps Epilepsy Ireland continue the amazing work they do supporting people and families living with epilepsy across Ireland. Thank you so much for your support.
