Darragh Winslow fundraising for Samaritans Ireland in Cork City Marathon 2025
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I am 17 running the full Cork City Marathon in aid of suicide awareness and prevention. Any donations or support will be greatly appreciated 😁. Thank you. Hopefully I can raise more awareness this is why I am going with Samaritans as my charity of choice 🤘
About Samaritans Ireland
Samaritans provide a 24-hour helpline service for people who are in distress, lonely, struggling to cope, and who need emotional support, including those who are feeling suicidal.
Volunteers are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on our freephone helpline number 116 123, and email jo@samaritans.ie – answering over 600,000 calls for help each year.
Samaritans Ireland is the national umbrella organisation that supports the work of Samaritans branches throughout the island of Ireland.
Funds raised for Samaritans Ireland will support our branch network nationwide, including our 24-hour helpline, and help to increase awareness of the services Samaritans offers throughout the island of Ireland.
Samaritans Ireland funding comes from public and corporate donations, legacies, and statutory funding from the Health Service Executive (HSE).
About Cork City Marathon 2025
Organised by Cork City Council, the marathon has three distances: the
Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K race. The routes weave through Cork
City’s scenic and vibrant streets and suburbs, past iconic landmarks and along
the bustling quays. The incredible support from Corkonians lining the streets,
paired with the camaraderie among participants, guarantees a memorable day for
all.
The Cork City Marathon is open to all, from elite athletes chasing
records to first-time runners tackling personal goals. It's more than a
race—it’s about community, resilience, and making a difference.
Building on the €200,000 raised for 58 charity partners in 2024, we aim
to double this target in the coming years. With our new tagline ‘Your Race,
Their Hope.’ We encourage participants to run for causes close to their hearts,
making every stride on June 1 count towards vital, life-changing work.
As a full member of AIMs the Cork marathon is IAAF certified.
