Samaritans provide a 24-hour helpline service for people who are in distress, lonely, struggling to cope, and who need emotional support, including those who are feeling suicidal. Volunteers are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on our freephone helpline number 116 123, and email jo@samaritans.ie – answering over 600,000 calls for help each year. Samaritans Ireland is the national umbrella organisation that supports the work of Samaritans branches throughout the island of Ireland. Funds raised for Samaritans Ireland will support our branch network nationwide, including our 24-hour helpline, and help to increase awareness of the services Samaritans offers throughout the island of Ireland. Samaritans Ireland funding comes from public and corporate donations, legacies, and statutory funding from the Health Service Executive (HSE).
