David Worcester and Teighlor Pengelley fundraising for Brain Tumour Research in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2025
We’re running the Dublin Marathon 2025 for Brain Tumour Research – in honour of our friend, Amy Carr. At 23, Amy was diagnosed with Glioblastoma while playing pro football in Norway. A former England youth goalkeeper and top-flight club player, she tackled her diagnosis head-on, enduring surgery, radiotherapy, and chemo. Against all odds, she was given the all-clear 10 years later. Amy 1 – Cancer 0. But just six weeks later, everything changed. The cancer was back. Inoperable. “Months, not years,” the nurse said. Amy set herself a goal: complete 5 marathons and raise over £21,000 for Brain Tumour Research. She’s now done all 5—including Belfast 2024, just months after her recurrence. Amy’s courage is what inspired us—David and Teighlor—to run the Irish Life Dublin Marathon on October 26, 2025. For Teighlor, it’s the first ever. For David, it’s the first in years. For both of us, it’s personal. We met through running and now train together most days. This challenge is our way of honouring Amy’s fight, and contributing to a cause that’s tragically underfunded. Brain Tumour Research is the only national charity in the UK dedicated to funding sustainable, long-term research into brain tumours. We’re proud to support them in their mission to find a cure. Please donate if you can—and if you can’t, we’d be so grateful if you shared our page. Every mile we run, we run with purpose. For Amy. For others like her. For hope. Let’s make every mile matter
