This October , I’m running the Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026 — to raise money and support for Sightsavers an amazing charity dedicated to preventing avoidable blindness and ensuring people with disabilities can live independently and with dignity. By donating, you’re helping fund life changing treatments and supporting communities that need it most. Every donation no matter the size, brings someone closer to seeing clearly, living freely, and having a much better overall life. Our vision is of a world where no one is blind from avoidable causes, and where people with disabilities can participate equally in society.
Sightsavers works in more than 30 countries to prevent avoidable blindness and fight for the rights of people with disabilities.
What we do:
Protecting sight - We prevent sight loss and avoidable blindness in low and middle income countries by treating conditions such as cataracts and refractive error.
Fighting disease - We help to treat and prevent five debilitating diseases that affect more than a billion people. These are known as neglected tropical diseases.
Disability rights - We promote equal opportunities and we campaign for disability rights so everyone has the chance to receive an education and earn a living.
