Catherine, Tracey, Doreen & Donna (Run for Dylan) fundraising for The Road Ahead NI in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026
Four Mothers, One Marathon & One Incredible Cause 💙 We are proud members of the “Run for Dylan”, a growing running group founded by Dylan’s mum Catherine, his aunt Donna, alongside family and friends in memory of Dylan Vallely. Dylan was a back seat passenger involved in an RTC on 27th October 2023 and sadly passed away on 14th November 2023 aged just 16 💔 On 25th October, together we will take on the Dublin Marathon to raise funds for The Road Ahead, an incredible charity that supports families affected by serious and fatal road traffic collisions. Their compassion and care helped our family through the darkest days of our lives, and we want to help ensure they can continue supporting others. Why we’re taking on this 26.2 mile challenge? Catherine: Every mile is for my beautiful first-born and only son Dylan. This marathon falls just two days before the date of the accident that changed our lives forever. This is my way of honouring our precious son Dylan and giving back to the charity that helped carry us through our unimaginable loss & I pray my boy will give me the strength to see it through 💙 Tracey: After losing my brother in a road traffic collision in 2000, I know the devastation these tragedies leave behind. Back then, there was no charity like The Road Ahead. Running alongside my cousin Catherine makes this challenge deeply personal. Doreen: I always ran alone until I joined Run for Dylan group. This amazing group became like family. Running beside Catherine, Donna & Tracey is my way of supporting them and helping raise funds for a charity that means so much to us all. Donna: I’ll run every step beside my sister, carrying Dylan in our hearts. Every mile is for him, his memory, and every family who will need The Road Ahead’s support in the future. Our goal is to raise as much as we can for this incredible charity. Every donation no matter how big or small will help support families just like us. #RunforDylan
