Declan Gibbons fundraising for Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation
As most know my sister Christina passed away last year at the Mayo Roscommon Hospice after a lengthy illness. She was 42 years old. So in 2026 I’m running the Irish Life Dublin Marathon — for something bigger than myself. 42km, a kilometer for every year of her life and the distance between comfort and courage, between an ordinary day and a moment that could truly change lives. Every kilometer I run is a reminder of why I’m doing this — to help support Mayo Roscommon Hospice who make a real difference for those who need it most. It’s not just about crossing a finish line; it’s about showing up, pushing through, and turning effort into impact. Your support — whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply cheering me on — means more than words can say. Together, we can take every step a little further. I can never repay the generosity and care shown to Christina by all at Mayo Roscommon Hospice but every euro helps. Every kilometer and donation matters. Every gesture helps. Thank you from the bottom of my heart in advance. Declan
