Dave Brennan fundraising for Aoibheanns Pink Tie in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026
Most people who visit this page will have done so before, to donate to a very worthy cause. Thank you! And for those on your first visit, thank you also and welcome. By now almost everyone knows why Séimí's mammy, Orna and I run marathons or do fundraising events, always in Séimí's name. It is to ensure that even though he has left us, he continues to be the hero that he was in life, spreading love and joy and helping people. We know only too well the journey that many families in Ireland must face when they get a diagnosis of cancer for their child. We have been down many of the same roads. It is not an easy journey to put it mildly and it can feel lonely and desperate at times. Aoibheanns Pink Tie offers support to children fighting cancer and their families when they need it most. Many people who volunteer for APT have walked the walk and know what this means to children and their families at the worst possible time. I was beginning to think I didn't have another marathon in me this year as my thoughts turned to the early starts, the pain and tiredness and the long training sessions over many months until the race day at the end of October. Then I remembered how privileged I am to be in a position to do this and in our hero, Séimí's name. I thought of his challenges and how he never gave up and how he left anyone who met him in awe. I think of all his pals that he met on his journey and their families who became our extended families and those whom we met after he left us who have had similar life experience, and I think of all the children fighting today and their families and I realise a marathon is nothing. Please, please donate to APT and help support these little heroes and their brave, courageous familes. Thank you ☝🏻 #Fightlikeachild #highone #neverevergiveup #seiminator
