This year, I’m running the Dublin City Marathon for the Irish Cancer Society – and I’m doing it for very personal reasons. I lost my dad at just 57 years of age. In 2020, I lost my brother Wayne, who was only 47. That same year, we also lost two of my uncles. In 2017, we lost my cousin Darren, and in 2022 his brother Glen passed away. Alongside those heartbreaking losses, there have unfortunately been many other family members and friends who have faced cancer diagnoses over the years. Like so many families, we know the pain and lasting impact cancer leaves behind. Running this marathon is my way of honouring their memories, supporting those still fighting, and trying to make a small difference. If I can raise even a little money to give back and help other families, then every mile will be worth it. Thank you x
