Brendan Murphy fundraising for Dillon Quirke Foundation in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026

This year I am running the Dublin Marathon to help raise funds for The Dillon Quirke Foundation. Your support and any possible donations are greatly appreciated.

About Dillon Quirke Foundation

Our Story - A Legacy of Hope Dillon Quirke was just 24 years old when he collapsed during a hurling match and died of SADS on 5th August 2022, at Semple Stadium in Thurles. Dillon’s family established the Foundation to prevent other families from going through what they have experienced and, in the process, to save countless lives. Every year, SADS takes 100 young lives in Ireland alone - a startling statistic that surpasses rates in many European countries. Research has shown that cardiac screening can significantly reduce the incidence of SADS. That’s why the Dillon Quirke Foundation is on a mission to: - Deliver free cardiac screenings to young sports players (aged 12-18) in a variety of sports clubs across Ireland - Raise awareness of SADS - Reduce the incidence of SADS in Ireland Together, we can create a future where young people losing their lives to SADS becomes a rarity, rather than a reality.
