Barry, Daniel & Darraghs fundraising for Jack and Jill Children's Foundation

Our daughter Jenna was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome in January 2024. Throughout this journey, Jenna has been surrounded by an amazing network of love and support. We are endlessly grateful to our incredible family, Jenna’s therapists, her caregivers and friends at Ciara’s Home From Home, our community, and the Jack and Jill Foundation for the care and support they provide through their wonderful nurses. The Jack and Jill Foundation provides vital in-home nursing care and respite support to families caring for children, up to the age of seven, with severe learning disability often associated with complex medical needs., and their support means so much to families like ours. On 25 October 2026, I’ll be running the Dublin City Marathon alongside great friends Daniel Smith and Darragh Smith, to raise funds for the Jack and Jill Foundation. If you’re able to donate, share this page, or help spread the word, it would truly mean the world to us. Every bit of support helps families like ours and makes a real difference. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.

About Jack and Jill Children's Foundation

Jack and Jill is a nationwide charity that funds and provides up to 100 hours per month of in-home nursing care and respite support to families caring for children, up to the age of seven, with severe learning disability often associated with complex medical needs. Typically, these children may be tube fed, oxygen dependent, may not sleep, take seizures, need a lot of medication and require around-the-clock care. Understandably, their parents can be exhausted and need a break, which is where Jack and Jill comes in. Our service operates seven days a week, with no means test, no red tape and no waiting list. Another key part of our service is end-of-life-care for all children up to the age seven, irrespective of diagnosis, empowering parents to take their child home to die at this most difficult time.
