Amy Roche fundraising for Breakthrough Cancer Research in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026
This year, I’m running the Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026 in honour of my cousin, Tighearnan, who recently passed away after being diagnosed stage 4 bowel cancer in October last year. Tighearnan was training for the Dublin Marathon 2025 when he received his diagnosis, which quickly escalated, meaning he was unable to complete his race. So, my two brothers and I decided to carry on his hard work for him. I’ve chosen to fundraise for Breakthrough Cancer Research because they are not only actively researching bowel cancer, but also raising awareness of the disease and supporting families who have suffered a loss. Despite having little to no experience in running, I’ve taken on this challenge to push myself and to value my health, something that can so easily be overlooked. Every mile I run is a reminder of why I’m doing this — to honour Tighearnan and to make a difference for those affected by this illness. Thank you so much for your support – every donation and encouragement means the world. ❤️
