I'm running the Dublin city Marathon, I'm as surprised as you are! I think taking part in a marathon and rearing a child with special needs is very similar. I always thought on both counts "I couldn't do that" but yet here I am. On both situations I've been consumed with doubt and fear of the unknown but with training, support and advice I`m getting there, I`ve managed long runs and Oisin is now 23 and happy in his life! its not always easy but no one is more stubborn than a parent who has to fight for her child with special needs or runner who wants to complete milage with a niggle injury!! Oisin has Prader Willi Syndrome and he works at it everyday, he has learnt that he can deal with hard things, he has thought me and our family as much as we have shown him, mostly that you will get there with hard work determination and support! so I`m looking for yours if you could sponsor me a few quid, Myself and Oisin and Our Prader Willi family will be very grateful, So I will head off and run a marathon for Prader Willi Syndrome association Ireland, for Oisin , for our family and because I can!
