Arron Murphy fundraising for AsIAm in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026
Hi everyone, I’m writing this from a hospital bed after undergoing unexpected knee surgery — not exactly where I thought my fundraising journey would begin. But if anything, this setback has only strengthened my determination. In 2026, I’m taking on two huge challenges: • The Dublin Marathon, and • The Ironman 70.3 in Mallorca, where I aim not just to finish, but to knock a full hour off my previous time. These races already represented a mountain to climb… and this injury has made that mountain even steeper. But I’m ready to fight my way back. I’m doing all of this for a cause incredibly close to my heart — AsIAm, Ireland’s national autism charity. When my first-born son was diagnosed with autism, our world changed in the most powerful way. We are so proud of him, so grateful for the joy he brings, and so thankful for the support, understanding, and guidance that AsIAm provides to families like ours every single day. Training for a marathon and an Ironman is tough. Training for them after surgery is tougher. But the challenges my son faces daily remind me that resilience is learned, strength is built, and support makes all the difference. That’s why I’m running, cycling, and swimming — for him, for all autistic children, and for the families navigating this journey. Every donation, big or small, will help AsIAm continue the incredible work they do — from providing education and advocacy to offering vital support services to families across the country. Thank you so much for reading, supporting, donating, and cheering me on. The road to recovery and training starts now… and with your help, I’ll get to that start line stronger than ever. Let’s do this — for AsIAm, for my son, and for every family that needs their support I’m aiming to reach a fundraising target of €15,080.20which is Mr Leos date of birth, but I think we can smash this goal out of the park, just like he does with most things 💪
