Austin Lord fundraising for Irish Cancer Society

Heya, on the 26th of October I will be trying to run the Dublin Marathon in a semi-respectable time to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society. Sadly, I lost my dad to cancer 2 years ago after a 7-year long battle. Whilst taking care of him, I experienced firsthand the great work charities such as these do for everyone involved. Therefore, it would be amazing if I could raise a bit of money for such a good cause! Any donation is appreciated immensely, no matter the size! To show how much this means to me, I’ll be matching the total amount donated up to €1000,-. Meaning all donations till then are doubled! Thank you so much, all support is appreciated. You can follow my running progress on Strava: Austin Lord

About Irish Cancer Society

Cancer is the most common cause of death in Ireland with more than 9,000 people dying each year. That's almost 25 people dying from cancer every day across Ireland. An average of 1 person every hour. However, thanks to earlier detection, improved care and targeted treatments, more people are surviving cancer than ever before. Today, there are 200,000 cancer survivors in Ireland. The Irish Cancer Society are working towards a future where nobody dies from cancer, and everyone affected by the disease will have access to world class treatment and support. Typically receiving only 5% of income from the Government, your support helps provide key services to ensure no one has to face cancer alone and funds vital cancer research with over €30 million invested since 2010.
