Abbie O'Leary fundraising for Aoibheanns Pink Tie in Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026
Well .... here we go !! If ya know me , you'll know I don't do things by halves... 😂 A while ago, I said yes to fundraising for Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, saying yes was an easy decision and I couldn’t think of a better challenge than taking on the Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026. Some of ya might know that I ran my first marathon back in 2021 when I was just 15 to prove wrong. This time, I’m not doing it to prove I can run 26.2 miles again—I’m doing it for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. I’ve seen first-hand the difference Aoibheann’s Pink Tie makes for children with cancer and their families, and I know just how much their support means during some of life’s hardest moments. Am I nervous? Nah Not at all 😁 (a little). I’m ready to take this challenge head-on… like literally straight on head first ... although I can’t say the same for everyone who’s going to have to put up with my marathon training complaints and dramatics over the next few months.... especially my coaches John and Michael from my athletics club (Celbridge AC) who are looking after the actual getting me over the line safely part 😂 If you’re able to support me, no matter how big or small the donation, I’d be so grateful. Every euro will help Aoibheann’s Pink Tie continue the incredible work they do. And if you can’t donate, sharing my page or cheering me on will mean just as much. Thank you so much for supporting both me and this amazing charity. Every donation, message and word of encouragement will keep me going all the way to the finish line. I promise I’ll stop talking about the marathon after October… probably. 😉 Now let’s see if 15-year-old me or 20-year-old me was the smarter one for signing up to this! 😂 Thank you all for taking the time to read my spiel 🫡 -Abi
