Moore Limerick will be hosting their hugely popular #MooreMorningRiverRun on Friday, September 9th from St Michaels Rowing Club at 7 am (leaving promptly). The run/walk/jog will take place along the River Shannon on the Condell Road and is a 5km distance.
To coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day we will be supporting Limerick Suicide Watch for this event and want to raise funds for them to allow these volunteers to continue their fantastic work. Our event has a huge link to this route along the River and as you are aware the River is also a place where people come to end their lives. This is the harsh reality of life for a lot of people and LSW have evolved to become the ‘go to’ people if somebody wants to talk or express their distress. We welcome EVERYONE to donate and come along to the event where we will have banter, chat coffee, tea and buns afterwards. You might even get your photo taken! Any enquiries in advance to Karl Daly on kdaly@moorefinancial.ie
We are a suicide prevention group that patrol the bridges of Limerick City. The group’s main focus is to keep eyes on the river and identify and provide support to those in distress and who may be contemplating suicide. As part of our Suicide awareness programme and our Community outreach programme, we visit schools, colleges, places of work and local communities to provide support, promote positive mental health and encourage conversation around mental health and suicide.
