Darkness Into Light 2026 is a global 5km walk, which will take place around 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Walking from the darkness into the light i.e. sunrise which is different times in different locations. This inspiring event symbolizes hope, as communities come together to support mental health and prevent suicide.

There are many ways to get involved. Join an official Darkness Into Light walk or create your own DIL fundraiser—whether it’s a bake sale, a car wash, a sponsored silence, a run, or a swim. Rally your family, friends, and colleagues in your local area to make a difference.

PIPS Suicide Prevention Ireland Charity

PIPS Suicide Prevention Ireland Charity is here to provide counselling and befriending support to individuals who are experiencing or have experienced suicidal thoughts or mental unwellness. PIPS Charity also provides support to families and friends who have been touched by suicide. Our life saving services provide direct support to individuals who are in need. We offer a free, confidential counselling service, with no restriction on the number of sessions provided. We also offer a crises walk in service in Belfast and a crisis telephone service at other locations during our opening hours. Please reach out if you or anyone you know needs help, you are never alone!
