Westport Golf Club Open Am Am - 1/May/22 - 21/August/22

The Westport Golf Club Open AmAm offers a unique opportunity to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to St. Andrews in Scotland for the St. Andrews experience at the “Home of Golf” and 9 other prizes of golf at top-rated Irish courses plus 10 fourball green fees for Westport Golf Club. Register your fourball team online and play at a course of your choice between the 1st May and 21st August 2022 to be in with a chance to qualify for the Westport Open AmAm Champions Final. The top 20 teams will play in the Champions Final on Saturday the 3rd of September at the renowned championship golf course in Westport.

Rules and format of play:

• The Open AmAm format is a four-person team event, open to ladies, gents, and mixed teams.
• Participants can play at their own home club or any other Golfing Union-affiliated golf course in Ireland or the UK.
• Scoring - 2 scores to count on each hole using the ‘Stableford' scoring system.
• All participating golfers must have a current WHS handicap.
• The maximum course handicap allowed is 28 for men and 40 for women.
• Players must use their current course handicap for the course they are playing on the day they are playing (subject to the above handicap limits)
• Play must be conducted in accordance with the Rules of Golf and any local rules in operation at the club concerned
• Cards must be returned to openamam@westportgolfclub.com on the day of play.
• A team with the same four players can only qualify once
• An individual player can only be on ONE qualifying team
• In the event of a tie, the “Scorecard Count-Back” system will apply i.e., the ‘countback’ system will be applied to determine the higher scoring team (back 9, back 6, back 3, back 1)
• Illegible scorecards will be disqualified.

Note: Any cost associated with playing at an away club is a matter for the player(s) and club concerned.

 When returning your team scorecard please ensure it contains the following:

• Name and World Handicapping System (WHS) number of each player
• Date played and the event order number (you receive this number on completion of Registration)
• Name of the course played
• Confirmation of Tees played
• Current course HC on the day of play
• Scorecards signed by two players
• Following your round, submit a clear legible photograph of your scorecard to openamam@westportgolfclub.com
• No cards will be accepted after the 21st of August 2022

Please note: Entries not submitted in accordance with the above rules will be disqualified. The promoter’s decision is final and binding in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into. The promoter is excluded from liability for any loss, damage, or injury that might occur to the winner arising from his or her acceptance of the prize. No cash alternatives will be offered.
