Ireland Australia Association Aussie Icons Celebration

Those who attended our Aussie Icons event in 2024 will remember it was a ripper of a night celebrating all things Australian, and was just the ticket following a cold and dark January in Ireland. 

Meet other like minded Aussies living in Ireland - and celebrate being 'Strayan - you can even dress up as your favourite Aussie icon! 

That's right -  we want you to bring the decorations.....YOU!

While it’s not compulsory to dress up, we encourage you to: go full gun on your Ray-Gun impression, embrace your inner-Dame Edna, come as a full-blown footy-feral, don a mullet and Driza-bone John Farnham-style, hop into a Kangaroo costume, or simply chuck on the thongs and BBQ apron - how far "iconic Aussie" you go is up to you!

There will be a prize for the best costume, so slather yourself in Vegemite or do whatever you need to do to stand out from the crowd!

• The party will kick-off at 7:00pm in “The Oriel Room” upstairs at Foley's Bar, 1 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, and will only stop when we’re told to rack off (after midnight).

• We will have plenty of tucker (substantial finger food)

• Everyone gets a welcome drink and IAA members also have an additional drink token; full bar available once the freebies run out

• Bring your dancing shoes as our legendary DJ will be playing all your Aussie faves The deadset legends who are IAA Members already get a discount, but ordinary punters are also getting the event heavily subsidised by the Ireland Australia Association because, well, we’re just fair dinkum about supporting Aussies and Aussie-loving Irish peoples! Hope you can come along for a ripper of a night!
