Cycling Ireland and Sundrive Track have teamed up to bring you Bike Fest Track which will mark National Bike Week, offering an opportunity for 10 year olds and above.
The year as our contribution to Bikefest we are hosting some free open 'Introduction to Track Sessions'. We will supply all equipment, however we would ask you to bring your own helmet and indeed Cycling Shoes if fitted with Keo Cleats. If you have neither of the forementioned we have an assortment of shoes and helmets and we also have attachments for the pedals by which you can use trainers.
We will start with basics of fixed gear / no brake riding and we will progress you to a skill point where you will feel confident and safe should you wish to take track riding to the next level and attend normal training. You don't need a Cycling Ireland License to participate so this is your chance to try out Track for free! Places are limited and we only ask that if you sign up for one of the free slots, that you commit to coming!
We have huge experience in taking absolute beginners to a decent standard within their first session and we can remember many of our current stars or road and track as track debutants! We cannot guarantee that ye all will become champions but we we can say you will enjoy the experience and that you will be welcomed into our fold should you decide to keep it going!!
